Sponsorship
For more than 40 years, Madonna Manor has been a leading Catholic retirement community in northern Kentucky. Under the sponsorship of the Benedictine Sisters of St. Walburg Monastery, Madonna Manor opened its doors on December 1, 1964.
In 2006, the Benedictine Community agreed that the best way to preserve the mission of Madonna Manor was to transfer sponsorship to a new like-minded health care system. The Benedictine Sisters chose to transfer sponsorship to the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania, Ohio whose values of Reverence, Service and Stewardship are closely aligned with those of the Benedictines. On February 1, 2007, Madonna Manor became a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania, Oh. and a member of Sylvania Franciscan Health the health care ministry of the Franciscan Sisters and Franciscan Living Communities (FLC), the long-term care ministry of Sylvania Franciscan Health.
The Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania, Ohio have been serving in healthcare ministry for more than 90 years. And, through Sylvania Franciscan Health, currently oversee organizations in Ohio, Kentucky and Texas including six hospitals, eight long-term care facilities, four assisted living facilities, independent senior housing, a counseling center, and a domestic violence shelter.
The experience and expertise of the Franciscan Sisters, Sylvania Franciscan Health and FLC not only enhances the values-centered service we provide, but ensures that Madonna Manor is well positioned to continue this legacy into the future.
